Can your business afford to lose £8,500 ?
| The average cost for an employer to defend a claim at an Employment Tribunal is currently estmated to be £8,500. Minimise the risk of being taken to an ET by ensuring that you have the correct employment procedures in place + make sure you have contracts of employment & that your employees know the company rules. |
Will we all be celebrating the Royal Wedding next year ......?
|
Not all staff will have an automatic right to a day off on 29 April....it depends on the wording of the employment contract. A contract stating "20 days holiday + bank holidays" = right to the extra day. A contract stating "28 days including bank holidays" = the employer having the right to treat the extra day as any other day. But Managers : can I ask you to think about the consequences before you decide what to do....what about adverse publicity & employee dissatisfaction......... |
